Dr Ana Blanco Barrio

Ana Blanco, MD, FESER, is a consultant radiologist in the emergency radiology division, Department of Radiology, University Hospital Morales Meseguer, Murcia (Spain). She is also a collaborating lecturer at the faculty of medicine, University of Murcia. She has expertise in all fields of Emergency Radiology including non-vascular interventional procedures, and MSK radiology. She completed a Visiting Fellowship in MSK radiology in NY (Hospital for Joint Diseases) and has been fully dedicated to Emergency Radiology since 2013. She has lectured both nationally and internationally. She has published papers and 13 book chapters.

She has a special interest in medical education and has been member of the CORE Committee of the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) (2020-2024) and leads the EDER /European Diploma in Emergency Radiology) examination. She has served as a member of the ECR Emergency Imaging scientific subcommittee in 2019, 2021, and 2022, and was Chair of this Subcommittee at ECR 2024. She is a board member of the Spanish Society of Emergency Radiology (SERAU) and President-elect of the European Society of Emergency Radiology (ESER). Ana is also an active member of the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) since 2022 and member of the Membership subcommittee since 2023.

Dr Faye Cuthbert

Dr. Faye Cuthbert is a Consultant Radiologist at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, specialising in urogenital imaging, including imaging in pregnancy, gynae oncology, and endometriosis imaging. She leads ultrasound imaging and the endometriosis imaging service at UHS and is a clinical lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.  Dr. Cuthbert regularly speaks at national and international events and collaborates with the Royal College of Radiologists on national guidelines for gynaecology and urology imaging.  She is also the outgoing president of the British Society of Urogenital Radiology.

Dr Tilak Das

Dr. Tilak Das is a diagnostic neuroradiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, having done Neuroradiology fellowships in Cambridge and Toronto. He is currently the Imaging department AI lead and leads on Neuroradiology in the recently established Eastern Diagnostic Imaging Network. Currently, he is Treasurer of the British Society of Neuroradiologists (BSNR). Also a keen educator, he is a past BSNR/RCR travelling ‘du Boulay’ Professor for Neuroradiology and part of a team awarded ‘Trainer of the Year’ by the BSNR.

Dr Emma Helbren

Dr Emma Helbren is a diagnostic gastrointestinal Radiologist from East Yorkshire within the

Humber Health Trust.

Prior to radiology she completed Basic Surgical Training with MRCS in Birmingham before

moving to Barts and The London to train in Radiology. She has completed an MD(Res) focused on CT Colonography at UCLH and is a former TPD of the East Yorkshire Training Scheme and Liaison Officer of BSGAR.

Her ongoing interests are colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and emergency

imaging.

Dr Chee Yip Kan

Dr Chee Yip Kan is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Liverpool University

Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). Following his specialist radiology training in

Liverpool, he completed a one-year fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Nuffield

Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He has expertise in diagnostic and interventional MSK

procedures. Dr Kan is deeply committed to medical education and has taught on various

courses.

Professor Mansoor Khan

Mansoor Khan is a distinguished trauma and conflict surgeon with extensive experience in military, conflict and humanitarian surgery. A retired Surgeon Commander in the Royal Navy, his career spans multiple operational deployments, including serving in conflict zones such as Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Sudan. Professor Khan's expertise has been instrumental in advancing trauma care in austere and resource-limited environments.

 

His academic contributions are vast, including leading roles as a Visiting and Honorary Professor at prestigious institutions like Imperial College London and the University of Sussex. Professor Khan is a pioneer in surgical education and research, focusing on areas such as damage control resuscitation and medical technologies for improving trauma care.

 

He is a prolific author and editor, contributing significantly to the literature on frontline trauma surgery, including the award-winning books Trauma Code Red and Fundamentals of Frontline Surgery.

 

Professor Khan also actively trains and mentors surgeons in austere and hostile settings, heading multiple courses internationally. His work seamlessly integrates surgical innovation, education, and operational expertise, profoundly impacting trauma and emergency surgery globally.

Dr Caren Landes

"I have been a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust since 2006.  

 

My expertise within paediatric radiology covers the full range of paediatric imaging including plain x-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and cross sectional imaging (CT and MRI), but I have a special interest in musculoskeletal radiology and trauma, including imaging in suspected inflicted injury. 

I am President elect for the British Society of Emergency Radiology and the Radiology Trauma Lead at Alder Hey and I was involved in the production of the RCR Guidelines for Imaging in Paediatric Major Trauma.  

I also lead the Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Trauma MDT Meetings at Alder Hey.  

As a result of my expertise I receive regional and national referrals for review of musculoskeletal imaging from Radiologists and Clinicians with an emphasis on imaging in cases of suspected inflicted injury. "

Dr Uday Mandalia

Dr Mandalia specialised in paediatrics up to ST6 level completing his MRCPCH in 2006. He completed his paediatric training on the London Rotation.

He has worked in Paediatric ER in Lewisham, The Royal London, St Thomas’ and the Lister Hospitals.

He has worked in Paediatric Anaesthetics and with the Paediatric Critical Transport team at the Royal London.

He trained in Radiology at Guys and St Thomas’ and completed his FRCR in 2014.

He has specialised in Paediatric Radiology at the Evelina Children’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street.

He has completed a Paediatric Radiology Fellowship at Great Ormond Street and a Fellowship in MSK Radiology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

He Currently works at West Herts NHS Trust and the Clementine Churchill Hospital as a consultant radiologist specialising in Paediatric and MSK imaging.

Dr Claudette Phillips

Consultant Cardiothoracic radiologist in Hull since 2022. I graduated from the University of

Edinburgh, completed my Radiology training in London, followed by a Fellowship in

Cambridge at the Royal Papworth Hospital. Having grown up in Yorkshire I am delighted to

be back nearer home to spend with family.

Dr Abhinaya Shankar

Dr.Abhinaya Shankar is a Consultant Radiologist who completed her medical education and post-graduation in Radiology from India. Her professional journey spans multiple prestigious centres, including a notable five-year tenure at one of South India’s busiest liver transplant centres. This experience has honed her expertise in complex cross sectional and ultrasound imaging, particularly in the field of hepatobiliary and transplant imaging.

Since 2022,  Dr. Shankar has been serving as a Consultant Radiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in Emergency Radiology with special interest in GI and HPB Radiology.
